On February 28, award-winning composer Michel van der Aa will release his debut indie-pop album, Time Falling, featuring singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke.
While previous collaborations with pop act These New Puritans and Portugese fado singer Ana Moura saw the adventurous composer stepping into new musical territory, Time Falling marks his first release outside the contemporary classical genre.
Described as a “kaleidoscopic concept album centered around the theme of infinity”, van der Aa’s upcoming work is inspired by the writing of Jorge Luis Borges, Fernando Pessoa, Federico García Lorca and Emily Dickinson.
Today, The Music and Myth features the premiering video for the album’s first single, “The Aleph”, based on Jorge Luis Borges’ eponymous short story.
