On May 15, indie-pop artist SPARXSEA (Chelsea Toussaint) released a video for her new single “Little Wooden Boat”. Directed by Darrell Foster, the video is composed entirely of footage from solo-sailor Holly Martin’s journey around the world in a 27 foot sailboat.
The young singer-songwriter, who cites Postal Service, Sufjan Stevens and Colbie Caillat among her influences, released her debut EP Shine in 2018. Her tracks “On The Sea” and “Painters” were featured on the compilation Naked & Free by Penumbra Recordings (2015). Her last single, “Don’t Let The Fire Die”, is featured on the 2019 Damnationland Soundtrack and was the title track at the film festival.
Co-produced by Will Holland (Pixies, Dead Can Dance) and Will Bradford (SeepeopleS), “Little Wooden Boat” is the first single from her upcoming full-length album On the Sea, scheduled for release in late fall 2020.
