Starting off the new year with one for the fans of “experimental ambient droning psychedelia,” which is how Cardiff-based musician Oli Richards describes his solo project, Goodparley.
Canvas, the artist’s latest album under the Goodparley moniker, was released on January 15 via Submarine Broadcasting Company.
Based on acoustic guitar samples credited to frequent collaborator, Il Bradipo, the album consists of five “canvases” depicting mesmerizing guitar melodies over droning, dreamlike soundscapes inspired by the “separate whimsical styles of F.S. Blumm and the lo-fi community.”
The album’s second single, “Canvas V(ii),” was released on January 8. Check it out below!
