On February 19, guitarist and composer Alper Tuzcu released Raíz, the final installment in his three-part EP series that began with Migrante and continued with Imagina. Like its predecessors, Raíz pays homage to Latin American culture, using rhythmic influences from cumbia (Colombia), chacarera (Argentina) and bossa nova (Brazil) accompanied by lyrics in Spanish and Portugese.
Below you can watch the video for the EP’s opening track “Milagro,” featuring vocalist Nicoh Kwan and Snarky Puppy percussionist Marcelo Woloski on bombo legüero.
You can listen to Raíz on Spotify and Apple Music.
